To obtain a license for collecting, procurement and recycling ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal, it is necessary to own or lease the site for metal storing having a total area of not less than 500 square meters for non-ferrous
metals and 1000 square meters for ferrous metals. If there are several sites for metal storing (recycling centers), it is also necessary to order the copies of license for each of them and to obtain an approval for each and
every site.
After that it is necessary to get inspected by the Fire Department, SSES, obtain a permit from the Department of Ecology, permit for commencement of works, operating permit for equipment (machinery) from the
State Health and Safety Supervision Authority (SHSSA). It is necessary to pass radiological inspection and train the personnel, purchase dosimeter, non-ferrous metal valuation kit (or to sign an agreement with chemical
laboratory), scales, containers for separate storage of different non-ferrous metals, loading and unloading equipment.
